Duo2Go, a violin and clarinet duo, will present a Chamber Music Series concert Sunday, March 28
March 28, 2010
The Duo2Go, a violin and clarinet duo, will present a Chamber Music Series concert Sunday, March 28, at 3 p.m. in Molnar Recital Hall in Wygal.
The duo, founded at Miami University in 2007, features Michele Gingras, professor of clarinet, and Dr. Harvey Thurmer, associate professor of violin. The duo's mission is to "perform and commission 'Portable and Ready-to-Hear' music ('Crossover' music with portable instruments - no piano - which allows performances in venues where pianos are not available). Crossover music is a style containing elements of 'Classical' or 'Concert' music mixed with other styles such as Rag, Jazz, Klezmer, Folk, Pop, and World Music."
The Longwood University Chamber Music Series consists of four concerts each season by prominent visiting artists. It is supported by the University Arts Council and the Patrons of the Chamber Music Endowment. For information on becoming a concert patron, call the Department of Music at (434) 395-2504.
