March 25, 2010
The Brass Quintet from the Fort Lee Army Band will present a free concert of music for brass Thursday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Blackwell Hall. The brass quintet, made up of two trumpets, French Horn, and trombone and tuba, has been recognized as one of the important combinations for chamber music since the mid-1800s. The Fort Lee brass includes highly trained musicians from universities and conservatories across the United States, and the program will offer a wide variety of selections from classic music to jazz, along with a stirring sampling of patriotic sounds.
