The annual "Festival of Lights" program will be held Dec. 2
December 2, 2009
The annual "Festival of Lights: Exploring the Diversity of Holidays and Holy days during the Season" program will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. in Lankford Ballroom.
Panelists in this pluralism and celebration of faith forum will include Dr. Carl Riden, assistant professor of sociology; the Rev. Sylvia Meadows, pastor of Farmville United Methodist Church; Dr. Ramesh Rao, professor and chair of the Department of Communication Studies & Theatre; and Dr. Neal Holmes, director of the Call Me MISTER program. They will discuss holidays and holy days and their commonalities. Dr. Christopher Swanson, assistant professor of music, will sing, accompanied by Dr. Lisa Kinzer, associate professor of music, on the piano. The program, open to the public, will be followed by a reception.
