March 18, 2009
Sculptor David Boyajian will give an artist's talk Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. in Bedford Auditorium on his piece Amaryllis: From Bud to Seed to Flowing Form, which will be installed in the Brock Commons Outdoor Sculpture Program. The work, made in 1998 of stainless steel, is from a series of large-scale steel sculptures by Boyajian that eventually formed his Bud and Seed Series. It will be placed between Greenwood Library and Willett Hall, and it will remain on view until spring 2011. Boyajian, of Danbury, Conn., teaches at his own studio, the Sculpture Barn, as well as at the Silvermine School of Art and Norwalk Community College. The Brock Commons Outdoor Sculpture Program is sponsored by the LCVA and Facilities Management.
