The Board of Visitors of Longwood University is conducting a search for Longwood's 25th president.
Dr. Patricia P. Cormier is retiring as president effective June 30, 2010, after 14 years of a highly successful presidency that has seen Longwood transform from a college to a nationally ranked university and the largest enrollment in its 170 year history.
The Board has established a 14-member Presidential Search and Screening Advisory Committee chaired by Barry J. Case, a member of the Board of Visitors.
The University-wide committee consists of five members of the Longwood University Board of Visitors, one Dean, three faculty members, two staff members, one student, the President of the Alumni Board and the President of the Longwood University Foundation.
Longwood University expects to complete its search by early 2010.
