Minor

This minor allows you to broaden your knowledge of this complex period through multiple lenses and a wide range of course offerings that focus, at least in part, on the Middle Ages or early modern era. In addition, Medieval and Early Modern Studies offers special events like Meeting in the Middle, the undergraduate research conference at Longwood, lectures, discussions, and arts programs.

Courses

Students will take either ENGL 205 or HIST 250 as a foundation course, and then choose from courses in

  • Literature
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Theatre
  • Art History

Courses must be selected from at least two different prefixes and at least two courses should be at the 300-level or above. No more than 9 credits can be counted from any one prefix.
